If I login to my verizon email using the AOL web interface and send a message from there, a copy is place in Sent Items and is marked as Read. Sync Settings and check the "Don't save copies of sent items" box then I only end up with the Unread copy in Sent Items, and it shows up there several seconds after sending. If I go into Account Settings->Account Name and When I send a message from the verizon account (/) I get a copy in Sent Items (marked as Read) and then a few seconds later I get a second copy marked Unread.
